Dog Description

Gabby

Gabby came into the rescue in July 2025 and unfortunately was a very nervous little pup. She went into foster and has thrived in foster care, but it has become apparent that she is extremely anxious of new situations. While being an absolutely lovable goof ball in her foster home, when you try and take her out of her “safe space” she completely shuts down. Gabby would make an amazing companion dog to some who is a bit of a home body. She gives the best snuggles and is gets the funniest zoomies when she is excited or happy. She loves plays with her 2 older foster siblings and has been very gentle playing with the smaller foster puppies. She will happily play in the house or the garden, but when you try to take her out (even for a walk) she just freezes. She started on anxiety medication (fluoxetine) in October 2025 and while this is helping and she is improving, she definitely still has a long way to go to overcome her fears. While she doesn’t do well meeting new people for the first time, but after a number of visits you can see that she gets more comfortable and this suggests that an adoption situation would be a transition with the potential new owner/family coming to visit her over likely a few months so she can get used to the new people, rather than a straight handover. Gabby’s estimated DOB is 14 March 2025 and she is fostered in Riverhead.
