Dog Description

Tambo

Tambo radiates love and warmth and always seems to have a smile on his face. He has an infectious zest for life that naturally rubs off on everyone he meets — both his canine companions and his human friends. He had the best possible start in life, surrounded by love and care from the very beginning, and as a result, he has grown into a young puppy with a truly wonderful character. He gets along beautifully with both dogs and people, always eager to interact and show that he wants to be part of the family and involved in every aspect of daily life. Tambo loves both indoor and outdoor life, especially when it means a chance to play with a canine buddy or one of his humans. After a good play session, he’s happiest curled up beside his family. His current favourite spot is resting on someone’s feet — he makes an excellent little foot warmer. He is easy to walk on a lead and will benefit from continued guidance as he develops his recall skills. Tambo is not particularly food-driven, so his future training will rely more on his desire to please his humans — and from what we’ve seen so far, that motivation comes naturally to him. He has recently started puppy daycare, which will further support and strengthen his already developed socialisation skills. Tambo is very relaxed around both children and adults once the usual introductions have been made. He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate and is also comfortable spending short periods in it during the day while his humans are out. However, due to his high level of socialisation, he would not cope well with being left alone for long periods on a daily basis. This is especially important during his early time with a new family, where he will need the opportunity to feel included, receive plenty of stimulation, and continue learning about the world around him. As he matures, his need for constant companionship will naturally reduce. He is fully house trained. Tambo is very comfortable around other dogs, although introductions to cats should be carefully managed during any meet-and-greets. Tambo comes fully vaccinated, including protection against canine cough. His vaccination and desexing surgery are fully covered by the Saving Hope adoption fee. He is currently being fostered in Orewa, and his date of birth is 22nd December 2025.
