Introducing River, who was born on the 25th of August 2024 and is fostered in Waiuku with cats, dogs, ducks and cows! River is a cuddly little boy who will be your best friend once he gets to know you. He is dreaming of a family of his own to show him the big wide world and all the fun things it has to offer him! River loves to explore and his favourite game is tug of war. He is a smart little boy who knows how to sit and wait for his meals, he has almost mastered toilet training and we are currently learning “lie down” and “come.” He loves his food so teaching him tricks won’t be a problem. This sweet boy can be a little shy and would love a calm confident doggy sibling as he loves to play with his older foster brother. But he will also thrive as a sole dog, in a home where someone is at home a lot and can fully commit to his on-going training and socialisation. He would also be fine in a home with older kids who are taught how to interact correctly with a puppy. River sleeps through the night in a crate, he will let you know when he wakes up and needs to go to the toilet. He has been healing from a broken leg and will be able to go to his forever home after Christmas, once he has the all clear from the vet. He has had his 1st and 2nd vaccinations and microchip. His de-sexing is also covered by Saving Hope under the adoption process.
