Meet Finn – This naturally good, 2-year-old boy has unfortunately been returned to SHF care and is now searching for his forever home. If you’re looking for a young adult dog who’s already fully vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, toilet trained, and crate trained, Finn could be the perfect match! Finn has the sweetest soul and will make an incredibly loyal and loving companion. He’s eager to please and highly food motivated, making training a breeze. He can take a little time to warm up to new people; however, once you’ve earned his trust, he’s an incredibly smoochy and affectionate boy – you just need to be a little patient. Weighing around 20kg, Finn is the perfect medium-sized companion. He is an active, energetic boy who would thrive in a home where he can join you on hikes, jogs, beach trips, or other adventures. Finn is great with other dogs and has a very neutral response to them out on walks. He is currently fostered with three other dogs (including one small breed) and gets along very well with them under management. Finn can be nervous when new people or visitors arrive at the home. However, with a structured training plan and consistent management, he has made incredible progress, and we now rarely see any issues with this behaviour (we will discuss this further at the meet and greet). Because of this, Finn is looking for an experienced owner who understands the importance of continuing the routines and training that have helped him succeed. With ongoing consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, we’re confident he will continue to thrive. Finn’s ideal home is with an experienced owner who is confident with medium to large-breed dogs, leads an active lifestyle, and can provide him with plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment, and companionship. If you’re someone who ticks the above boxes and is willing to give this sweet boy a little extra help in the world, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most loyal, loving, and affectionate companions you could ever ask for. If you think you could offer Finn the home he deserves, we’d love to hear from you – please submit an adoption application today! Please note: Children aged 13+ are preferred for Finn. Finn has not been tested around cats, so we are unsure how he would be with them, although we don’t anticipate them being an issue.
