Hopper is a three legged boy with a heart of absolute gold. Born 31/10/24 and fostered in Waiuku. To those who know him well, he’s a super sweet, gentle, cuddly and playful energiser bunny with a charming happy boy smile. He’s a water baby that loves playing in his paddling pool, delights in watching you upside down, carries toys in his mouth and overall just loves being his goofy happy self. He forms tight bonds with his humans and loves unconditionally – Hopper truly is your absolute best friend and shadow. He is a medium sized mixed breed with stunning spots all over his body. He’s also a quiet boy but will give an impressive security alert bark when he needs to. He lives to make his people happy and follows the rules when given firm direction. Hopper also adores other dogs (he’s been around all shapes and sizes, all ages including tiny little pups who he is so delicate with) but he can get over excited and would ideally suit a dog of his size or he will be happy as an only dog, with someone at home during the day or able to take him to work. He’s been out in a truck and travels well. Hopper has also been around our confident elderly cats who are used to dog zoomies (don’t let his three legs fool you, when he’s not napping or cuddling, Hopper loves to run, bounce, leap and of course hop!). He’s very gentle especially with children, takes treats with delicate grace and with his leg now amputated and no longer holding him back, he is figuring out that walks around town are a lot of fun. He never tugs and always walks at a sedate pace, he will just need on-going walks to build his confidence in busy walk environments. Hopper is looking for a patient person or family who will understand he just needs a bit of time to warm up to you. He’s not shy but can be quietly hesitant and observes people before approaching, as he has had a rough start to life (which I’m happy to discuss with you). When you’re in his circle, you’re in his circle forever and you’ll never meet a more loving good boy. Hopper will only go to the most loving of homes, with the time to continue to draw him out of his shell on walks and help him show the world his beautiful smile.
